This past week i've lost a friend to a motorcycle accident. He was far too young and too much of a great person to have lost so early. He lived life to the fullest; being a 5'5" 135lbs professional mma fighter, motorcycle rider, very talented musician, excellent tradesman, and a great friend to everyone he met. He loved his mentally challenged dog buford; and loved his girlfriend with all his heart, even when they weren't getting along.
The point of this blog is to make you sit back and look at all your friends and think about how they've influenced your life. I never thought about how he's changed the way i am at work and at home; and now that he's gone its all i can do.
So, please, everybody; take a moment to look at your friends, family and loved ones and think about what life would be like without them. Think about how your life would change. Think about how upset you would be if they passed away. Then tell them you love them, are thankful you met them, and tell them they've changed your life.
Appreciate every moment with everyone you know. As my friend Mo said today at the funeral: "you know young man, we are all just guests here; we have to make the best of the time we have."
I would like to thank all my friends who supported me when i was feeling down. You guys are why i'm still here. I love you. Thank you. To the Kinetic Boys: i'm sorry your fearless leader has been unable to even speak for the past few days. Everytime i walk past the mtce shop my throat tightens up and tears form. Thank you for being as strong as you all are.
To Justin's Family and friends: I'm absolutely staggered by what has happened this month; and am very sorry for your loss. He will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have met him.

Destroy this, Elmo
I've been looking on ebay to find myself a pair of jeans or two recently. I would just like somebody to tell me what the big deal is with "destroyed" or "distressed" jeans?! It is impossible to find a good "non-destroyed" pair of jeans. Really. I've looked with much annoyance and to no avail.
If you go back a few years, if you had rips or tears in your jeans its a sign of the jeans age. Those are tears and rips caused due to being worn...which is the reason you buy jeans in the first place right? So they get ripped, torn, faded and worn out instead of your legs.
What's worse, companies are charging more for the destroyed look. I bid on a pair of Diesel brand jeans that had tags that said they cost $240 retail. Why would you pay that much for jeans when you can get nearly the same quality at Walmart or maybe international clothiers for 1/6th the price? Don't get me wrong; i'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for"; but $240 for pants? c'mon. The current high prices of jeans is just too convenient if you ask me. Now you look like a beggar AND have no money because you gave it to the jeans companies. Good Job.
I do however have a fair amount of respect for the person who came up with the 'destroyed' concept. I believe her myspace name is 'Christine Dolce'. I may be incorrect on that though. I've quickly read up about her(as in spent 2 mins 2 days ago reading her myspace page), and she's done alright for herself; she's a beautiful young woman, she's got 750,000 friends on her myspace account, she's working as a model, has her own line of clothing, has appeared on many talk and fashion shows, and recently was the cover and centerfold for playboy magazine.
Another prolbem is that the person who decided this was a good idea obviously lives in a warm climate year-round. I live in the middle of alberta; the last thing i want is a hole or rip in my pants letting in some of that wonderful -45ºc air floating around outside. The boys may get a little bit upset; if you know what i mean.
Also, i have and issue with the stupid designs and logos seemingly plastered wherever there isn't a 'destroyed bit". I'm going to keep this one brief. Stop making jeans with the fucking lame logos on the back pockets and legs. It looks stupid.
These 'destroyed jeans" will be like bell bottoms of the 60's and 70's, and the ultra tight neon colored jeans of the 80's and early 90's. In 10 or 15 years we will be laughing and joking about how absurd people looked wearing destroyed clothing. At least in the 70's and 80's people looked like they could actually afford clothes; and not have to recycle hand-me-downs from their siblings.
A whole rant about pants and i didn't even make fun of the idoits with the crotch of their pants around their knees. Maybe next time.
